A chair, a table, a couch. They’re common items in someone’s home. And maybe that’s why they can be done in so many styles. When it comes to having a chair, a table, or a couch in your home, your imagination is the limits to how it looks, but they all have the same function. A chair will be a chair. A table will be a table. A couch will be a couch. No matter how it looks, or how it’s styled, it still serves that base purpose.
A sit-up, a shoulder roll, a form. They’re common tools in a martial artists inventory. And yet, there’s so many ways you can modify them. Whether you need to modify certain parts to accommodate an injury, or you modify them to make them more challenging on yourself, they follow the same base structure.
With that, everything in Kung Fu has a way to be done. The same way a chair can be built poorly, a kick can be executed poorly. But the more times you build a chair, or the more times you do a kick, the better it will get.
